A dream takes a former standout athlete from Steubenville, Ohio into a new chapter, one that brings his Ohio Valley roots into the story of a legendary Ohio born coach.
Pierce has spent years helping young people and athletes find direction, discipline and purpose. Now the founder of S.T.G. Management Group is bringing that experience to a growing slate of documentary projects and expanding his role in sports and entertainment.
In recent months, Pierce has made headlines after securing rights to multiple documentaries with the potential to reach audiences across both fields. Earlier this month, he offered a first look at a highly anticipated project centered on legendary basketball coach Jerry “Tark the Shark” Tarkanian.
The connection between Pierce and Tarkanian begins with a shared Ohio foundation. Pierce is a former standout athlete from Steubenville, while Tarkanian was born in Euclid, near Cleveland. Tarkanian went on to build his coaching career in California, leading teams from the junior college ranks to national prominence.
Their stories also include a move west. Tarkanian’s family relocated to California during his childhood. Pierce carried his Ohio Valley experience into a career that eventually brought him to California, where S.T.G. Management is now based.
Pierce is also building a broader business platform through a partnership with Quintel Gordon of Dallas based Gordon Legacy Group.
The business management and marketing firm works with NFL, NBA and college athletes across the country.
In addition Quintel also serves as President of NFL player Matthew Judon’s nonprofit that connects him with leaders across sports and entertainment.
Before entering this new chapter in film, Pierce built a reputation as a coach and mentor, serving young people and athletes at high school and college programs. That experience gives his involvement in a Tarkanian documentary a personal dimension: a leader who has spent years guiding others is now helping bring the story of a defining coach to a wider audience.
